How Marketing Data Consulting Limited, trading as Business Energy Leads, collects, uses and shares personal data, and the choices and rights you have.
Who is responsible for your information?
Marketing Data Consulting Limited, trading as Business Energy Leads is the controller of the personal data described here. Company number 07662795.
Email hello@businessenergylead.co.uk, call 07735 447845, or write to April Cottage, Ampney Crucis, Cirencester, GL7 5RZ.
Part A: business enquiries
When you ask for quotes through our forms or landing pages, we collect your enquiry details and a record of how it was submitted.
This includes business name, name, email, phone, postcode, current supplier, meter type, average monthly bill, enquiry date and time, IP address, source page, campaign details and the consent wording shown. We do not ask for contract end date, meter count, business type, MPAN or MPRN.
How to stop contact or further sharing
You can object to marketing and further sharing at any time. There is no fee and no login is needed.
Use the opt-out and data request form. We stop our own contact and further sharing, remove your details from aged and sample lists, and tell brokers who received them within one working day. Please tell us the email address or number used in your enquiry.
How long we keep enquiries
We keep enquiry data for 24 months from the enquiry unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
We may retain the minimum information needed to honour your objection, deal with a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Keeping a suppression record helps prevent us contacting you again.
Part B: brokers and website visitors
We use broker business contact details and contact-form information to answer enquiries, manage orders and communicate about our services.
Contact-form information includes your name, company, email, phone and message, with submission and campaign details. For cookies and local storage used by visitors, see our cookie policy.
Our lawful bases
To pass your enquiry to an energy broker who will respond to it, we rely on your agreement when you complete our form. To pass details of companies to other brokers later, we rely on our legitimate interests in supplying business enquiries to brokers. You can object at any time. For sole traders and some partnerships, marketing by email or text needs specific consent, and we only pass on those details where that consent is in place. To run our business with brokers, we rely on our contract with them and our legitimate interests.
International transfers
Google and some other providers may process information in the United States or other countries outside the UK. Transfers need an appropriate UK data-protection safeguard.
UK adequacy regulations may cover eligible recipients, including certified organisations covered by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Where adequacy does not apply, the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), or the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, can provide safeguards. Ask us for details of the arrangements relevant to your enquiry.
Automated decisions
We do not make solely automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects. Campaign and form checks help us handle enquiries, but do not determine your energy contract or eligibility to switch.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, and object to its use for direct marketing.
See your UK GDPR rights or send a data request. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier processing that was lawful.
Privacy complaints
Please contact us first if you are unhappy about how we handle your data. You also have the right to complain to the ICO.
See our complaints procedure. Contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) on 0303 123 1113.
