Terms for buying leads from Business Energy Leads: ordering, exclusivity, aged leads, pricing, payment, replacements, data protection and liability.
Definitions and who we are
These terms apply to leads supplied by Marketing Data Consulting Limited, trading as Business Energy Leads, company number 07662795.
Lead: a business enquiry supplied to a buyer. Live Lead: a paid real-time enquiry. Aged Lead: an older enquiry offered for resale. Sample Lead: an enquiry provided to test contact quality. Delivery Time: when we send the lead to the nominated email address or shared sheet. Exclusive Period: 30 days from Delivery Time.
Registered office: April Cottage, Ampney Crucis, Cirencester, GL7 5RZ.
Ordering and packages
We agree your order, bill bands, regions and delivery arrangements before starting. Package features depend on the level ordered.
Starter leads come from our own comparison campaigns. Growth adds a custom landing page. Scale adds dedicated advertising campaigns under your brand or ours.
- Starter: 15 leads, from £40 per lead.
- Growth: 50 leads, from £70 per lead.
- Scale: 150+ leads, from £100 per lead.
Samples come from current or older campaigns, usually have lower bills, are not exclusive and do not represent the bill band of a paid order. A lead does not promise a sale or commission.
Exclusivity and older enquiries
A paid real-time lead goes to one buyer for 30 days from delivery. After that we may sell it as an aged lead to other brokers.
Aged and sample leads are not exclusive. A lead means someone requested quotes; it does not mean they are out of contract, their switching window is open, or that they will buy. Your first call confirms the contract position.
Prices, invoicing and payment
Prices exclude VAT. Start with 15 energy leads; we invoice weekly or per batch.
| Monthly energy bill | Price per lead |
|---|---|
| £500 – £1,000 a month | £40 |
| £1,000 – £2,000 a month | £70 |
| £2,000 – £4,000 a month | £100 |
High usage (over £4,000 a month) and multi-site: quoted per campaign. Priced by the business's average monthly energy bill. Ad spend, landing page and delivery included.
30 days old: £15 each, minimum 500. 60 days old: £10 each, minimum 500. Aged-lead replacement terms are agreed on the order.
Payment due dates and any advance-payment requirement are stated on the agreed order or invoice. Contact us before the due date if you dispute an amount. Other service prices and minimums follow the applicable quote.
Free replacements
Faulty leads must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. No-response leads qualify after 5 unanswered calls at least 12 hours apart, reported within 7 days with attempts noted in the sheet. Mid-contract or already renewed businesses, a business choosing another broker after speaking to you, and uncompetitive prices are not replaceable.
Faulty leads include domestic enquiries, wrong or disconnected numbers, fake details, duplicates, outside the agreed bill band or region. Report the issue with the delivery reference and relevant evidence. For no-response reports, record call attempts in the shared sheet.
We assess requests against this policy; choosing another broker after speaking to you or an uncompetitive price is not a faulty lead.
Buyer obligations
Use enquiries lawfully, honour opt-outs and do not resell leads. You are responsible for your own marketing, quotations and contracts.
Screen against TPS and CTPS where needed, comply with UK GDPR and PECR, and honour an opt-out within 24 hours of our notice. Follow Ofgem rules that apply to your broker activities. Do not assume every recipient has consented to every channel or that a business enquiry permits unrestricted marketing.
Data protection and sharing terms
We and each buyer act as separate controllers for the information we process. Each party is responsible for its own lawful basis, security and rights handling.
Use data only for the agreed enquiry purpose, limit access to authorised staff and processors, protect transfers, report relevant breaches promptly and cooperate on rights requests. Do not share or resell leads without an agreed lawful arrangement. Keep consent evidence with the enquiry and stop processing for marketing when notified of an objection. Any additional data-sharing terms on the agreed order also apply.
Liability
Limit our total liability to the fees paid for the order involved. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or commission. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be limited or excluded.
Ending an arrangement
There is no minimum term. Either party can end future supply by notice, subject to any agreed orders already being delivered.
Amounts properly due remain payable. Data-protection duties, confidentiality and restrictions on misuse continue after supply ends. We may suspend supply where a buyer fails to pay or uses enquiries unlawfully.
Using this website
